The son of a good friend of mine called recently and asked if I would design a graphic to be used in his run for mayor (surprising, as I remember him as a 13-year-old adolescent!).
Sean wanted something contemporary with a color scheme other than red, white, and blue — all without straying too far from what voters will recognize as political signage. We opted for orange and teal — just a few steps away from what’s traditional — and kept the familiar waving stripes and stars. The design is versatile and can be used in different ways on signs, cards, flyers, etc.
I was eager to help Sean with his campaign because I know him and his family as people who place a high value on honesty, character, and service. These are the kind of people that I want operating the government. The differences in politics can be ironed out, and in fact can create mutually beneficial compromises, as long as the people involved have these qualities.
